Creating your Merge EDU Account

A Merge EDU account is your key to unlocking all the interactive science simulations and digital teaching aids in Merge EDU, along with resources like activity plans and STEM projects. You’ll also need to unlock a free trial or purchase a subscription to enjoy everything Merge EDU has to offer.

Individual Account Setup

If you want to get started using Merge EDU as an individual, you’ll be starting your account as part of the Merge EDU Free Trial.

School Account Setup

If you’re creating an account as part of a school subscription, you will need to take an additional step to link your Merge account to your school or classroom. There are 3 levels for school accounts:

In this article, you’ll learn how to:

  • Create an account as part of the Free Trial
  • Create an Admin Account for a New Subscription
  • Create a Teacher Account for an Existing Subscription

Create an account as part of the Free Trial

  1. Sign up for a Free Trial by visiting www.mergeedu.com and tapping “Start My Free Trial” or going directly to dashboard.mergeedu.com/signup

  2. On the first page of the setup process, you will be asked if you have a Join Code. This is only for Teachers and Students who are connecting to an existing Merge EDU Platform subscription. To start a free trial without a join code, simply tap “Continue”.

  3. The second page will ask what role best describes you (out of Administrator, Teacher, Parent and Student). Select the one that best describes you.

  4. The next step is where you put in the information to create your account. You can sign in with a Single Sign On tool (Microsoft, Google, Classlink, Clever, Apple), 

    image13.pngor fill out the form at the bottom:
    image3.pngNote: For those who indicated the role of Administrator, Teacher, or Parent, it will ask for an email address. For those with the role Student, it will simply ask you to enter a username and password.

  5. The next page will be dependent on the role you selected. Students will be asked to answer 3 multiple choice security questions for password recovery. Note: This is the last step for the Student role, before Wrapping Up (Step 8).

    For Administrators, Teachers, and Parents, please enter your first and last name and how you plan to use Merge EDU.

  6. For Administrators and Teachers, please enter the name of the school you are affiliated with in the next step.

  7. For Administrators and Teachers, the next page asks if you would like to invite others to your Free Trial subscription. 

    Simply enter the email addresses (separated by commas) of any colleagues you would like to join your free trial. This will send them an email invitation to join your trial. This makes it easy for groups of teachers from the same school to explore Merge EDU together!

    If you don’t wish to invite your colleagues, simply tap the “SKIP” button below the “Continue” button at the bottom of the page.

  8. You’re all done! Tap “Finish”. Please make sure to check for the Verification Link in your email to gain full access.

Create an Admin Account for a New Classroom or Schoolwide Subscription

The Admin account for a Merge EDU subscription acts as the central hub for the other accounts to link up to. There can only be one administrator account per Merge EDU subscription, so if multiple people will need access to the admin account, we recommend using a shared email address and password.

When you’re ready to start your subscription, you’ll need to schedule an Onboarding Call with Merge. During this call, the Onboarding Specialist will direct you how to create this account and will activate your subscription.

You can reach out to Merge about scheduling your onboarding call at platformsupport@mergeedu.com or contacting your assigned representative.

Create a Teacher Account for an Existing Subscription

To join a subscription as a teacher, you will need to get a subscription join code from your subscription’s administrator. Once you have this 6 character code, it is time to create your account. 

Note: If you already have a Merge EDU account, you should delete the existing account before proceeding.

  1. Go to https://dashboard.mergeedu.com/signup on a web browser
  2. Enter the subscription join code in the space provided, then tap the arrow to proceed.
  3. Continue following the steps to create and activate your new Merge account.

Creating a Student Account for an Existing Subscription

To join a subscription as a student, you will need to get a five character class join code from your teacher. Once you have this 5 character code, it is time to create your account. 

  1. Go to https://dashboard.mergeedu.com/signup on a web browser
  2. Enter the class join code in the space provided, then tap the arrow to proceed.
  3. Continue following the steps to create and activate your new Merge account.

Now that you’ve created a Merge EDU Account and joined a free trial or existing subscription, you will need to download the Merge apps and then sign in with your account.
