How to use AI Generator

AI Generator empowers students to supercharge the design creation process, enabling them to go from inspiration to creation in minutes - not weeks or days.

Students can create AI-generated 3D models by converting drawings, photographs of real-world objects or people, by using text prompts, or a combination of each! 

Follow the steps below to generate your own custom 3D model:

Step 1. Sign into Merge 3D + Select AI Generator from the menu

Visit dashboard.merge3d.ai and sign in and select AI Generator from the left side menu, or the main home screen.

Note: You MUST have either a free trial, a Merge Creator subscription, or full Merge 3D subscription to get access to AI Generator. 

Step 2. Let the Creation Begin!

It’s easy to get started with AI Generator! You can simply add in a text and a reference image at the top of the screen, then press the right arrow button.

Or you can use one of the Presets: 

For this example, I selected 3D Animation Style.

I uploaded a reference image of my pet cat, and used a text prompt to create a calico cat similar to the one in the photo. Other text prompt ideas: you can also ask the AI to change colors, textures, add a funny hat, or any other idea you may have!

You can also choose to make your object public or private. 

• If you mark it public, it will be shareable to anybody who has the link or QR Code, without needing to have a Merge account!
• If you mark it private, you will not be able to share it with others that do not have a Merge Account. 

After you add in your text prompting and reference image, press the right arrow button ➡️. 

Step 3. Wait as your object Processes

Wait a few minutes as your object processes. You can let it work in the background and move on to other things.

Step 4. View your new 3D Model

When it’s complete, you can tap “View 3D Model”. If you toggled away from the window as it was generating, you will find your AI Generated 3D model in your Object Viewer Library. 

Step 4. Edit the Details and add Multimedia Labels

You can select Edit from the upper right corner to edit your title and description, add multimedia labels, and more!
