Adding Multimedia Labels to Objects
All Merge EDU content comes with text labels attached, which can be easily turned off and on. Students can also add multimedia labels to their own created objects using Object Viewer, including text, audio, photo and video labels.
Multimedia labels make it easy for students to showcase their understanding, explain processes, provide additional context, or highlight key features of their 3D models—making presentations and class projects more dynamic and informative.
Note: to add multimedia labels to your own objects, you must have a Merge Creator subscription.
Follow the steps below to add labels to your object. Note: These steps assume you have already created or uploaded your object.
Step 1. Sign into the Merge 3D Dashboard.
Sign in the Dashboard.Merge3D.ai with your credentials.
Step 2. Select your Object from Object Viewer
Go to Object Viewer from the Dashboard Home Screen, then select “Library.”
Then tap “My Content” from the menu, and select the object you’d like to add labels to.
Step 3. Add the labels
Once you have selected your object, tap “Edit” in the upper right corner.
The “Edit”screen will pop up where you can edit the title, description, thumbnail and add labels for your object.
On this screen screen, tap “Add Labels” found in the bottom right corner.
Now you’re in the label editor. Your first label called “Unnamed Label” is automatically added.
Place your Label
To place the label, make sure you are on the “Place” selection. Then simply tap on your object where you would like to place it.
Add a Text Label
To add a text label, tap the “T Content” selection. Here you will add a label “Title” and “Description.” You can also choose to translate it. Press “Save” when you’re finished.
Add Media to Your Label
You can also add videos, images and audio to your label. To add media to your label, tap “Media” on the right side of the screen on the same label. You can drag and drop or click to upload an image, audio or video file.
Alternatively, you can add a YouTube or Vimeo link if you’re adding a video. Press “Save”.
Follow the steps to add text and/or media labels until you’re finished.
Step 4. View your Object with Labels
To view your object with the labels, simply tap “Library” from the left-side Object Viewer menu again, then select your object.
Tap the label name to open it. You can see I tapped on my label "Hard shell" and it opened the label on the right side of the screen. Now I can read my text description and see the image I uploaded.
Step 5. Share with others
To share your object with others, simply tap the “share” button in the upper right corner of the screen. Here you can copy a sharable link, or share/print the QR Code.
