Share Collections or Objects in Merge 3D
Sharing collections and objects makes it easy to collaborate with colleagues, provide students with curated content, and distribute instructional resources across your school or district. Students can also build and share their own collections, making it easy to showcase learning, organize research, and present projects.
In This Article, You Will Learn How To:
- Share Topic Card or Collection
- Share individual objects
- Share Merge EDU Collections
- Share Custom Collections
- Share Custom Merge Creator Content
- Access shared content
Share an entire Collection (Object Viewer) or a Topic Card (Explorer, HoloGlobe)
A collection in Object Viewer contains several objects, and a Topic Card in HoloGlobe and Merge Explorer contains multiple activities. Follow the directions below to share an entire Collection or Topic Card:
- Visit dashboard.merge3D.ai and sign in, then select a collection in Object Viewer, or an entire topic card in Merge Explorer or HoloGlobe. In this example we are using the Object Viewer collection, "Butterflies and Moths Unveiled".
- Open the Topic or Collection you would like to share by tapping on it. Sharing at this level will include all activities, objects, and resources contained within that Topic Card or Collection.
- Click the Share button found in the upper right corner.
- Copy the share link or print the QR Code.
- Send the link or QR Code to students, colleagues, or other users.
Recipients simply tap the link or use their camera to scan the QR code, and the shared objects or collections will open for them.
Share a Single Activity (Explorer, HoloGlobe) or an Object (Object Viewer)
In addition to sharing an entire collection or Topic Card, you can choose to share only a single object or activity within. Follow the steps below to share a single object or activity:
- Navigate/Search to a Topic or Collection in Explorer, HoloGlobe, or Object Viewer
- Select a single activity or object you would like to share.
- Click the Share button.
- Copy the share link or print the QR Code.
- Send the link or display the QR Code to students, colleagues, or other users.
Recipients can use the link to quickly access the shared object.
Share a Custom Collection
Sharing a custom collection is just as easy as sharing the Merge EDU content. Follow the steps below to learn how:
- Select your Library from the left-hand menu.
- Select All.
- Select the Custom Collection you would like to share. See more here on creating Custom Collections.
- Click the Share button.
- You may need to toggle on Make publicly sharable.
- Copy the link or print the QR Code to share with students and colleagues.
Sharing Custom Collections allows you to distribute your own curated sets of objects and resources through a link or QR Code.
Share Custom Merge Creator Content
When you create 3D objects or scenes with Merge Builder, AI generated objects with AI Generator, or uploaded 3D objects with Uploader, you will be able to share with others in the same general way as sharing Merge EDU content - with a link or QR Code. Follow the steps below to learn how:
- Sign in dashboard.merge3d.ai
- Select your Library from the home screen
- Select My Content to see everything you've created, or alternately, narrow down by select one of the apps below. For this example, I'm selecting the Loggerhead Sea Turtle I created with AI Generator.
- Select the Share button in the upper right corner of the screen. A QR Code and link will pop up. You can print or screencast the QR Code, and/or share the link as usual. *Note: If you want those without a Merge account to view your custom object, make sure you have marked it as Make publicly sharable on the edit screen.
That's it! It's so easy to share you amazing creations with the world!
