Setting up your Class or Course License
When you or a member of your team purchases a Class or a Course License, the account owner will need to assign it to the correct school and Course or Class to ensure everything is set up correctly.
In this help article, you will learn how to:
- Assign the license to the school (which may include creating the school if a brand new subscription).
- Create and assign the license to a Class (if the license is a Class license).
- Create and assign the license to a Course (if the license is a Course License).
- Enter all Classroom names if more than one (as in a Course License)
- Assign user access to your own account, if you want access to the content.
Follow the steps below to properly set up your Class or Course License:
1. Sign in to your Merge 3D dashboard at dashboard.merge3d.ai.
When you sign into dashboard for the first time and scroll down on the home page, you might see two messages:
- “YOUR ACCESS. You don’t have coverage. Teachers and students can use the apps. Add yourself as a member of a licensed school to use them too.”
- YOU HAVE UNASSIGNED LICENSES. “This license needs a place to live. Create a school, then assign the license to it.”
2. Select “Create New School.”
In order to add yourself as a member to a school, first you have to create a new school. Type in the name of the school, then tap the button that says “Create New School.” Make sure the “active” toggle is on.
3. Select or “Create New Course”
After your name the school, you will need to create a course. Select from the dropdown if there is already a course you would like to apply the license to; otherwise, select “Create New Course”. Type in your course name - it’s required; course number and subject are optional. Add the information, then select “Create New Course” again to confirm.
4. Tap “assign now.”
You will get a pop up confirming that the license is assigned. Tap OK.
5. Now you need to create your classrooms.
From the homepage, select “School” then select “Classrooms”.
Tap “New Classroom” then fill in the information required and optionally add the additional information. In the example below, I have added three classrooms.
6. Assigning your coverage.
You can see that your license is covering your school and classrooms in the course. Let’s assign you access through the course name. Tap “Open [Your School Name]”. My school name is Merge Demo School, so for this example, I will tap “Open Merge Demo School.”
Now select “Users” from the right side under “Manage Users.”
Type your name in the box under “Create or invite a new user”. Then tap your name when it pops up. Even though you are the account owner for account management purposes, if you want to access the content, you will also need to be made a user.
Tap “Add” when your name pops up. You have now been added as a user to the school and can access the content.
Note: It might be necessary to refresh your browser to get access.
If everything is set up correctly, you will now see on the home screen that your license is covering your school, and you now have coverage through your Class or Course. In this case, my course name is 6th Grade Science.
You will also now be able to see the suites you have access to. For example, If you have an EDU Course License, you will see that Merge Explorer, HoloGlobe and Object Viewer are now accessible as pictured below.
7. Add Students to your Subscription
