Turning Labels Off and On

Labels provide standards-aligned educational information directly on the 3D objects and simulations. While all pre-made Merge EDU content comes with labels, you can also add your own labels to 3D models you upload or design using the Merge Creator Suite.

Depending on your lesson goals, these labels can easily be turned on or off to best suit the activity you and your students are working on.

Follow the steps below to learn how to toggle them on and off:

Step 1. Sign in to the Merge 3D Dashboard

Visit dashboard.merge3D.ai and sign in.

Step 2. Select a 3D Object or Simulation

Select any 3D object or simulation from Merge EDU content, or your own 3D model from Merge Creator. For this example, I’ve selected a 3D object from Object Viewer.

Step 3. Find the “label” icon and tap it

The label icon is in the upper left corner of the screen.

If you tap it once when labels are on, only the number labels will remain.

If you have just the number labels showing, you can screencast on a smart board, or take a screenshot of the 3D model to use as a class discussion or for a quiz to test students' knowledge.

If you tap the label icon twice when the number labels are showing, the labels disappear completely. It may be helpful to turn the labels off completely when interacting and making observations about the objects to be sure you’re seeing all the details.

Tap the label icon once more to turn the labels back on. That's it - so simple!

Now that you know how to turn the labels off and on, you can learn how to add labels to your own 3D models! Learn how here.
