The Merge Cube merges the physical and digital worlds using computer vision technology and the powerful camera and sensors in your mobile device. Simply download and launch a Merge EDU app, then point your device at the Merge Cube.
With the Merge Cube, you can explore a galaxy in the palm of your hand, hold fossils and ancient artifacts, explore a DNA molecule, investigate the Earth’s core, dissect a virtual frog, hold and share your own 3D creations, and much more!
The Merge Paper Cube is a free version of the Merge Cube, which can be printed and assembled. While we allow paper cubes for non-commercial, educational use, we don't recommend them for long-term use. However, paper cubes are useful for trying out Merge EDU apps or in remote learning situations where students may not have access to a real Merge Cube.
The real Merge Cube is precisely manufactured from a soft and squishy foam material, which can be purchased online. Using the real Merge Cube will make for a more positive and engaging experience, because the tracking performance enhances the believability of holding a real object. The softness of the foam makes the interaction more tangible and intuitive. Using a real Merge Cube makes a huge difference in experiencing the wonder and excitement of high-quality augmented reality. We highly recommend using the real Merge Cube whenever possible!
