Merge EDU gives you new mixed reality tools to integrate into your STEM program, and it’s easy for you to engage your students with hands-on, digital STEM projects, both in the classroom and while remote learning from home.

Each project focuses on a different Future Ready skill and follows the same design process, so students will know what to expect each time they complete one.And, every project includes step-by-step instructions along with a number of worksheets that students will fill out and share as they progress through each step.

In this article, we will introduce you to the steps you should take to familiarize yourself with Merge STEM Projects.

When you’re ready, follow these steps to get started:

Step 1

Sign in to Merge Explorer to access the engineering-design centered STEM Projects.

Step 2

Browse the STEM Projects designed by innovative educators from around the world. The projects were designed for remote, hybrid and in-class learning scenarios.

Step 3

Solve real world problems. Each project is organized around a real world challenge and requires students to think about how they will use technology to help solve the issue, using augmented reality and the Merge Cube as an integral component. This allows for rapid iteration of designs, and makes it easy to give and receive feedback from anywhere.

Step 4

Collaborate and give feedback quickly by holding and inspecting student creations on the Merge Cube. We provide project worksheets organized to help students think about how feedback helps improve their designs.

Step 5

Present your work like never before in mixed reality using the Merge Cube and a mobile device. You can even place your 3D design in the real world so viewers can better understand and visualize the solution. You can use Zoom or Google Hangouts to give live presentations, or pre-record the presentation to share a video with the class.

Step 6

Share a STEM Project with your students by selecting the share button on the project page. Once your students have a Merge EDU account, they can log in and access all the resources directly from the dashboard. From there, they'll create copies of the worksheets to fill in as they complete the projects.
