The Merge EDU Platform gives you new and unique augmented reality tools to integrate into your STEM program, allowing you to engage your students with hands-on, digital STEM lessons, both in the classroom and while remote learning.

Students can use the Merge Uploader to upload their own 3D creations to view and visualize on the Merge Cube or in real-space, or they can gain a better understanding of complex STEM concepts by utilizing the digital teaching aids available on the platform. Students can also complete a future career based challenge using the Merge STEM Projects where they will learn the steps and principles of the engineering design process.

In this article we will introduce the main components you’ll need to know in order to effectively utilize the Merge EDU Platform in your STEM Lab or Makerspace.

  • 3D Visualization
  • Teaching Aids
  • STEM projects

3D Visualization

Visualizing your own 3D creations on the Merge Cube makes it easy to inspect them up close from all angles, and to share with others for feedback. It also allows for rapid iteration while developing 3D prototypes, and can help save time and materials when you’re 3D printing.

STEM Projects

Merge EDU gives you new mixed reality tools to integrate into your STEM program, and it’s easy for you to engage your students with hands-on, digital STEM projects, both in the classroom and while remote learning from home.

Each project focuses on a different future ready skill and follows the same engineering design process, so students will know what to expect each time they complete one. Every project includes step-by-step instructions along with a number of worksheets that students will fill out and share as they progress through each step.
